Vision

A future where every student has access to safe drinking water

FLOW aims to create a sustainable model for clean water access in schools while strengthening student leadership and environmental action.

1

Healthier students

Supporting better hydration and student well-being through free access to purified drinking water.

2

Less plastic waste

Reducing reliance on single-use plastic water bottles across the school system.

3

Youth sustainability leadership

Empowering students to take ownership of environmental sustainability through school clubs.

4

Climate-resilient future

Supporting Guyana’s long-term development goals through clean energy and responsible resource use.

Project Launch

Clean water, sustainability and STEM learning in action

At its core, FLOW reflects the power of youth innovation and reinforces a simple idea: the future of Guyana is being shaped by its young people.

How FLOW Works

Solar-powered purification for schools across Guyana

FLOW installs solar-powered water purification systems in schools, providing free access to safe drinking water through a reliable multi-stage process.

  • Multi-stage filtration
  • Reverse osmosis (RO) purification
  • UV treatment to eliminate bacteria and viruses
  • Cooling and motion-sense dispensing

Sustainability Model

Built to be maintained by schools and communities

The sustainability of Project FLOW will be managed by the Ministry of Education and the various Regional Democratic Councils (RDCs), in partnership with Guyana Water Inc. to support water testing.

A comprehensive operations manual is shared with the Ministry of Education and school administrations to maintain smooth work processes.

This creates a self-sustaining, community-driven model that combines environmental action with hands-on STEM learning.
