The University of Guyana is Guyana’s sole national tertiary education institution which offers over 60 undergraduate and graduate (postgraduate) programmes, including in Natural Sciences, Engineering, Environmental Studies, Forestry, Tourism Studies, Education, Creative Arts, Economics, Law, Medicine, Optometry, and Nursing.

Projects being supported by the Greater Guyana Initiative include the Biodiversity Capacity and Research Project, Dental Chairs, GID and Remote Sensing Laboratory Project, Retrofitting and Expansion Project: Science and Technology Building, Molecular Biology Lab: Infectious Disease Mapping, Professors of Practice, Campus Safety and Security Project, Medical Skills Lab, The Zoom Room Project, Regional Accelerator for STEM Students Readiness (RASSR) Project and Skills and Anatomy Lab.
