Purpose: Strengthen RLPA’s capacity to deliver the inputs and services producers need while expanding its reach and capacity to influence the local market.
Outputs:
Since its implementation in January 2024, the Hinterland Poultry ‘Egg Sandwich’ Project Phase II has sought to:
- Strengthen RLPA’s capacity to manage the hatchery, and resolve nagging issues with the main equipment that have severely impacted our hatching rate and profitability over the past six months.
Anticipated Impacts:
- Hatchability rate stabilised at no less than 75%.
- Working environment improved – hatchery staff have access to adequate facilities on-site.
- The hatchery generates an operational surplus for the RLPA.
